The Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, Directorate for Defense Affairs, organized a consultation on the topic “Resilience of the State and Society in the Republic of Slovenia”, which took place on June 20, 2023 at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The purpose of the conference was to define the concept of resilience of the country and society, to present the current activities in the field of resilience with an emphasis on critical infrastructure, and to present a view of resilience through international and global trends. It is a new concept that builds on existing concepts and practices in the Republic of Slovenia by various ministries. The need for the application of the concept in many sectors and the need for horizontal cooperation between many stakeholders was highlighted.
The speakers at the conference were dr. Damir Črnčec, State Secretary of the MoD of the Republic of Slovenia, Boštjan Pavlin, Director General of the Ministry of Defense of the MoD of the Republic of Slovenia, mag. Renata Vertovšek, DOZ MO RS, amb. Sabina Stadler, Head of the Department for Strategic Studies and Analysis, MFA and Prof. Dr. Iztok Prezelj, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, President of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia.
