Krištof Jagodic, member of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia, delivered an interactive workshop on recognising and building resilience against disinformation at the KamPo 2026 youth camp, held at the Gotenica Training Centre in cooperation with the Slovenian Police.
The workshop, entitled “Resilience to Disinformation: What We Need to Know and How to Defend Ourselves”, was very well received by the young participants. Through active engagement and discussion, they explored the differences between disinformation and misinformation, learned about the objectives behind disinformation campaigns, and examined the most common techniques used by those who create and spread false or misleading content.
Particular emphasis was placed on the critical evaluation of information sources and the verification of online content. Participants were introduced to the SIFT method, a simple and effective framework for assessing the credibility of information in the digital environment.
During the practical part of the workshop, participants applied their newly acquired knowledge to analyse real-world examples and independently identify characteristics of disinformation. Through these hands-on activities, they further developed critical thinking skills that are essential for navigating today’s complex information landscape.
By delivering this workshop, the Euro-Atlantic Council contributed to strengthening media literacy among young people and raising awareness of the importance of reliable, verified information in an era of rapidly spreading online content.
