Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia
The Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia (EACS) is a voluntary, non-profit, and non-governmental expert association, established in 1993. Its mission is to promote peace, security, and democratic stability in the Euro-Atlantic area through education, research, publications, and public dialogue.
EACS cooperates with NATO, the European Union, Slovenian government institutions, and international partner organizations to pursue its core objectives. The Council strongly advocates for enhanced cooperation between the EU, NATO, and their member states, with a particular focus on regional security challenges in the Western Balkans and the broader Euro-Atlantic region.
Our Activities
In addition to organizing events, roundtables, and expert discussions, EACS publishes the Euro-Atlantic Bulletin, a policy-oriented publication featuring expert analyses and recommendations on key security issues.
Since 2013, the flagship event of the EACS Youth Section has been Balkan SAYS – Security Architecture Youth Seminar. This annual international event brings together young professionals, students, and experts to engage in meaningful dialogue on security, reconciliation, and cooperation in the Western Balkans and the broader Euro-Atlantic region.
EACS also operates the Situation Room, an ad-hoc crisis-monitoring platform activated during major international or regional security developments. It provides timely reports and expert assessments.
Our Mission Since 1993
Since its founding, EACS has worked to raise public awareness in Slovenia about the importance of active engagement in international institutions dedicated to the preservation of peace, security, and sustainable international cooperation. Through its activities, the Council contributes to informed public discourse and strengthens Slovenia’s role in the Euro-Atlantic community.
