Matic Kosirnik is a Defence Studies student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. He has further enriched his academic journey through studies at the War Studies University in Warsaw, focusing on contemporary security challenges and strategic studies. His expertise spans international security, defence, geopolitics, and the functioning of national and international security systems and organizations. Matic deepens his interest in these matters by participating in international security forums, writing analytical articles on pressing security issues and geopolitical trends, and conducting independent research.

As the President of the Youth Section of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia, he leads the section’s activities and projects and collaborates with international partners within the YATA network. In addition to presiding over the Youth Section, he serves as project manager of the Balkan Security Architecture Youth Seminar (SAYS), an international security conference that addresses critical security challenges in the Western Balkans and broader international security issues.
