In March 2026, members of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia visited the Boštjan Kekec Barracks in Bohinjska Bela. The visit marked an important milestone, as it was the first time the Council delivered a presentation on Slovenia’s security architecture and the role of NATO within the framework of Basic Military Training.

The session brought together the March generation of soldier candidates, offering them a valuable opportunity to place their future military careers within a broader strategic context and engage in direct discussion with representatives of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia.

What stood out most was the high level of engagement. The discussion was dynamic, and the participants posed a number of thoughtful and well-informed questions, demonstrating a strong interest in Slovenia’s security policy and its role within NATO.

By integrating such activities into the Basic Military Training programme, the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia continues to strengthen civil-military relations and foster a meaningful platform for dialogue on the future of Slovenia’s security.
