In February 2026, members of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia held two presentations on Slovenia’s security architecture and NATO during the winter youth camps of the Ministry of Defence programme “MORS in Mladi”, hosted at Boštjan Kekec Barracks in Bohinjska Bela, Slovenia. Together, the two events attracted approximately 400 participants.
In a clear and interactive manner, the presenters introduced the functioning of the national security system of the Republic of Slovenia and explained the role, significance, and broader context of Slovenia’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
Through lectures and discussions with participants, members of the of the Euro-Atlantic Council also addressed numerous questions and clarified common misconceptions related to security and defence. The presentations follow the “youth-to-youth” approach, which aims to raise awareness and encourage the active involvement of young people in discussions on current security challenges.
The Euro-Atlantic Council regularly carries out such cooperation with the Ministry of Defence as part of both winter and summer camps. These activities contribute to strengthening civil–military relations while also creating space for dialogue and the intergenerational exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of security.
