The guest of this edition of Defence Hour is Assoc. Prof. Dr Jelena Juvan, Head of the Chair of Defence Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Vice-President of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia, researcher at the Defence Research Centre, author of numerous professional articles, and media commentator.
The discussion focuses on the extent to which political decision-makers responsible for defence in the Republic of Slovenia take into account the views, expertise, and recommendations of defence studies scholars. Defence, both civil and military, as well as the wider system of civil protection, can only function effectively, sustainably, and decisively when it is informed by the findings of different professional and academic fields.
