On Thursday, September 28, 2023, some members of the Youth Section of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia together with the president of the Youth Section, dr. Brin Najžer, accepted the invitation of YATA Türkiye representatives and visited the Turkish Embassy in wake of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. The meeting was held at the residence of the Turkish Embassy, where the members were welcomed by the Turkish Ambassador, Her Excellency Aylin Taşhan.
After the presentation of the Turkish foreign policy and activites of both ATA/YATA Türkiye and the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia, the meeting continued with a discussion about the cooperation between the Slovenian army and the Turkish armed forces as NATO members, problems and challenges with the integration of the Western Balkans countries into the Euro-Atlantic connections and contemporary security threats in the Western Balkans and the areas bordering Türkiye.
The visit to the residence and successful discussion ended with traditional Turkish food and conclusion by all participants that the
Youth Section of EASS and YATA Türkiye will cooperate more closely in the future.
